Today is Tu B'Shevat in the Hebrew calendar, new year's day for the trees, grain, and vegetables. The fruit of the trees was the physical nourishment eaten by Adam and Eve, the first humans. Yet it was precisely their misuse of the instinct to eat that caused humanity's expulsion from the Garden of Eden thus also altering the spiritual essence of the plant world. By recentering our spiritual essence, we are able to recenter the entire creation including the trees and plants themselves, thus healing reality. From this can be understood that our power as human beings to either protect or destroy our environment is in essence a spiritual power bound up with our connection to the Creator of the Universe. 78x120 cm on metal.
